Cha...Cha...Cha...Chazal! Take a Thursday evening stroll through a beautified Madison Square Park. Continue heading east on 26th street stopping at the grand and romantic white canopy. Notice the attractive group of winers and diners enjoying the conversation and cuisine, amongst the pleasant décor of dark wood floors, white table cloths, candle lamps and papyrus leaves. Pass through the canopy and take a sage velvet seat inside by the bar. As you sip your $10.00 Cosmo take a glimpse into the grand dining room constructed mainly of dark wood with white tablecloths, dried flowers and candles. The crowd grows as the sun sinks away into a black sky. A look back toward the bar reveals that the night has begun to take shape. Summarily, fashion conscience twenty and thirty somethings move in and take their places. Apple martini orders and introductions are being made along with multiple security glimpses into the interesting mirror and glass-paneled wall behind the bar. As the voices heighten, so does the tempo and volume of the music. Your cocktail table by the bar has been cleared for the dance party and the evening has begun to take affect. The once soft contemporary jazz beats have now taken the pace of mainstream house and hip-hop, and those who were observed just moments before, peacefully enjoying their meals, have now taken up dancing. The restaurant develops lounge-slash-club status with night owls residing inside and out. The Chazalite nation grows as the line filters in off the streets, entering free of charge and ready to go. The rabble is Euro-American and the vibe is upbeat, relaxed and alive! Though far from the west side, the scene tends to take on it's own meat-market effect at times, but a bumpin sound system and anything goes party feeling are enough to exonerate the offence. Chazal is a sensual indoor/outdoor setting characterized by charming Mediterranean décor and an eclectic and sophisticated fun-loving social scene. The serious sound system and good-looking patrons beckon you to abandon your plate, for a flirt, a fruity drink and finally a dance groove. Here, happy hour lasts way past midnight with a beat and good feeling that goes on and on until 3 or 4am. ...And when the doors finally come to a close and the cha cha cha begins to take on a new meaning, that sexy and tranquil feeling that the evening has inspired will stay with you, bringing you back time and again to this unwinding oasis.
