Saci: Improved and Ready for the Rebirth of Manhattan

There is a rebirth going on in Manhattan these days, ladies and gentlemen. Everywhere you turn, people are flooding back into the nightlife scene as if the good times never ended. Nearly every night of the week, one can find a happening party packed to the hilt with native New Yorkers and Bridge & Tunnelers alike. Safety and friendliness are at a near all time high since the awakening events of last year. Transportation seems to be the only thing that may take some time to get used to as one makes their way toward the places they love and at a time wondered if they would ever see again. Although any night will afford a person the opportunity for a great time, Saturday nights seem to be the most competitive in the battle for the city’s resurging club goers. Several clubs have seen lines wrapping around the block at their new Saturday night parties. One of these hotspots is the Saturday night party at Saci.

(upstairs bar at Saci)

The party is a recent transplant of the former Saturday night party at Cheetah. Matthew Walker and Jon B. have made a wise decision to move the party to the much nicer and more central location that Saci provides. Admission to Saci is a very reasonable $15 dollars when on a guestlist, making it the lowest admission of any of the regular Saturday night parties in Manhattan. Not only is the admission price reasonable, Saci also includes an open bar from 10-11 pm each Saturday. The trendy crowd was of an average age of about 27 years old. Both sexes will enjoy the adequately mixed female to male ratio. Saci features the sounds of DJ Rich Rydell spinning a perfect mix of everyone’s favorite dance tracks. Partiers on the main floor are also treated to a fun hip-hop party set by DJ Exacta mid-way through the night.

Saci has certainly come a long way since its first season last winter. One full year since my last review, Saci has ironed out nearly all the wrinkles of their debut season. Major complaints I once voiced against this midtown nightclub have not only been addressed, but completely reversed as well. The staff is now one of the most courteous I have seen in a Manhattan location in some time. Even the still strict, but now polite door staff is courteous and as accommodating as any door staff could be, I suppose. Table accommodations still are the best way to go at this club, as the bar is still inconvenient if you plan to frequent it during the night. Our table arrangements were met promptly, and once we located our waitress, she made every effort to ensure our needs were met.

As area nightlife patrons begin their ventures back into Manhattan, the city’s bars and clubs are waiting with open arms and a wave of great parties to keep people partying right through the onset of summer. For those who haven’t made the attempt to get back into the scene, now is the best opportunity to do so thus far. Any night of the week presents a wide array of options for those who enjoy everything from a neighborhood bar to a huge megaclub. Pull your best clothes from the back of the closet, call your friends, and head back into Manhattan; And, if you happen to be there on a Saturday night, be sure to check out Saci, because for me, the second time around has been a charm.
